Triple A Batteries, which look somewhat like this:

Right, enough fooling around, lets get to business.
AAA is acronym of three processes that is usually done by a Network Access Server (NAS for short). The three As represents:
| Process | Explaination: How it works |
|---|---|
| Authentication | An entity is identified through variables given by the entity that uniquely specifies the entity. Such variables include password, username and one-time passwords (or tokens) |
| Authorization | An entity's permission to access or operate within the network is defined. This is done after the authentication phrase and is enforced to prevent unintentional damage to the network by restricting access to part of the network to the general users. |
| Accounting | Used to take note or log a entity's behaviour and actions. |

I have read your post "Authentication, Authorization and Accounting".
i Like the part where u say how it works like in Authentication ---> An entity is identified through variables given by the entity that uniquely specifies the entity. Such variables include password, username and one-time passwords (or tokens)
Furthermore the AAA battery make your post interesting and funny

ReplyDeleteHi Luke,
I like the way that you approach this post by cracking joke about AAA. This make the post fun makes me feel like reading on the post.
After reading the post about AAA, I am becoming more aware that it is usually performed at the Network Access Server (NAS). I have also learned that authorization is one of the phases to prevent any unintentional damage to the network.
Besides that, I am also aware that the through enforcing any unintentional damage, the network administrator must restrict access to certain parts of the network.
Anyway this is a very informative post. Thank you.

Hi Luke.
ReplyDeleteI like the little joke in the beginning of the post. However, the batteries in the pictures are AA batteries, and not AAA batteries. I have also never seen such types of Energizer batteries before. Where did you buy them from?
I like that you have split the details up into different tables so that it is easier for people to grasp an understanding on the concept of AAA.
Also, in your picture, the first battery from the right is in a different direction from the rest of the batteries. Why is that so?

First of all, i would like to thank you for taking your time to collate and write a post on Authentication, Authorization and Accounting or also known as AAA. After reading your post, I felt that this had helped me a lot in having a deeper understanding of what Authentication, Authorization and Accounting is about.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that i liked about your post is that you simplified what Authentication, Authorization and Accounting is about using a table. You wrote the the name of the process and also accompanied it with explanation and how it works.
And finally I would once again like to thank you for the effort you put through to get this post up.

ReplyDeleteI feel the small joke at the start stirs my interest to continue reading your post. Your post in the table form allows me to see and read easily.
The contents of your post are also very sufficient in letting me understand more of Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) security.
